We visited on Saturday 26th March. It’s nice to see a packed Restaurant out of season in Blackpool. This of course can only mean that it is good and it was excellent. We arrived 6:45pm and had to wait about 5 minutes for a table for two, however it was perfect opportunity to soak up the atmosphere and ambience. We were seated in the window and our waitress took our coats off and we were offered drinks immediately, We settled down to look through the menu amidst a good almost carnival atmosphere due to a couple of large birthday celebrations, it was noisy but the noise was of people having a good time which was great. For our choice of drinks we initially asked for a bottle of Asti but the apologetic waitress came back to tell us they had run out, we chose the sparkling Lambrusco which was lovely (although it did need a ice bucket to chill it, however this was understandable due to being full to capacity).

For our food, my partner chose Garlic bread with cheese and I had the Bruschetta. The Garlic Bread with cheese was obviously freshly made, normally in Blackpool a garlic bread is dough with garlic butter, but what we had here was the real deal, with lovely little chunks of garlic and topped with just the right amount of herbs, it was too big for my partner so she kept half of it to have with her main. My Bruschetta was really rustic, freshly prepared and absolutely delicious, not something I'd usually have for a starter but would certainly without fail choose this again next time I’m at an Italian.

For our mains. My partner chose Pasta Bolognaise and I had the Mushroom Risotto, Both were piping hot had to wait 5 minutes for them to cool down! Perfect when you want to have a pre-course rest and allow time for the parmesan to melt on top of the risotto. The Bolognaise was excellent with ample meat in it, the sauce was not overpowering a nor liquidy, it dressed the pasta perfectly, it was excellent. The Mushroom Risotto was just right, the rice had the right bite to it, it was creamy without being stodgy, there was plenty of mushrooms in the dish an excellent portion of them, this is were some restaurants fail, but the quantity of ingredients on offer in each dish made Nunzio's pass this test.

All in all very impressed, somewhere we've wanted to visit for a long time when we visit Blackpool and glad we finally did. One thing we noted was considering the restaurant was at full capacity for our entire visit, the food service was efficient, this is obviously a restaurant and kitchen that is well managed and organised, also all the staff even though run off their feet, seemed happy and friendly also a gentleman who I presume was owner was enjoying working the floor and clearly took pride in his restaurant caring for all his customers and conversing with everyone as well as singing Happy Birthday very loudly!

Thanks Nunzio's for an enjoyable meal and I’m sure we'll be back next time were in Blackpool

Well worth the visit

4 Jan 2011 New

We visited on New Years Eve without booking. The tables were all booked, but we were told if we waited they would find a table for us. So we stood at the bar with a drink. Didn't notice how long we waited, because of the good atmosphere and friendly chatter.

We had pancakes for starters which were absolutely gorgeous. Then a meat feast pizza which was huge and tasty.

Both Nunzio and his wife were friendly and the staff looked as if they were enjoying working there.

It seems to be a very popular restaurant so relax, enjoy a drink and be prepared for a wait if there isn't a table immediately - you won't be disappointed.

Went to the North Pier for Children In Need Concert, Nunzio's restaurant is five minutes away. It was recommended by a local lady who works in the Winter Gardens. We were greeted by very friendly staff. Nunzio was chatty and made us feel welcome.
He recommened certain foods on the menu, which were excellent. The vegetables, aubergine wrapped round batons of carrot, brocolli & cauliflower, were well cooked and very tasty. We both had the three courses for £12.95 excellent value for money.
The wine was a bit cold, so they put it in front of the log fire to warm up, very obliging. Nunzio's has a nice atmosphere and the service was very efficient.
Ignore the other negative comments on this site, they should stick to fish & chips.....

My friend and I have just returned from Blackpool back to barrow - in - furness, after spending a fun packed day with our children. We hunted for a nice Italian place, one of our children has leukaemia and has a taste for spaghetti bolognaise nearly every night!!

We found Nunzios and couldn’t have been more happy with the service we received. The staff were lovely and Nunzio himself who came to our table on several occasions has an amazing manner and wonderful with the 3 children, in fact they even received free ice creams!!
Without a shadow of doubt when we return to Blackpool we will definately make a point of returning. The food was beautiful and the service was outstanding.
Thank you so much.

Wow wow wow!!!
I had to contact you to express my absolute sincerest praises for your restaurant.
Recently, on a break from Wolverhampton, my friend and I visited your restaurant. I commented at the time that the food was of outstanding quality and hands down the most amazing Italian food i have ever tasted.
We would consider coming back to Blackpool purely to visit your restaurant! What an exquisite cuisine!!! Absolutely amazing!
Not only that, but the warm and inviting atmosphere from all of the staff was extremely comforting and made the dining experience so relaxed.
You have a wonderful restaurant and i hope to see you all soon.
Thank you so much for an amazing time.

My Girlfriend and I just recently visited Blackpool Sept 29th 2006. We fell upon Nunzio's. On entering it was very busy, but after a 5 minute wait and a glass of lager we were given a table. The atmosphere was fantastic and you were made to feel very welcome.
My girlfriend had the Chicken Livers to start and I had the Chicken Wings. Absolutely beautiful. We both had the fillet steak for our main course, mine with the stilton cheese sauce. The Steak was exceptional, melt in the mouth cooked to perfection with boiled potatoes and vegetables. The waiters were fantastic. My girlfriend and I were so happy to stumble on such a fantastic restaurant.

I can understand why it was so busy. I would recommend this restaurant if you are visiting Blackpool. Outstanding

A Stunning Find

Of all the years I have been to Blackpool (30+) I don''t think I have visited a better place.
My wife and I had booked in for the lights on the Saturday/Sunday along with her sister and partner and it was their 1st time in Blackpool.

I had seen Nunzio''s advertised so as we arrived before the others looked it up and it seemed ok.
That evening (the Saturday) we tried to get in but there was too much of a waiting list so we went chinese.

The following evening we tried again early doors and what a treat. The place looks quite ordinary from outside, but the inside is very welcoming, the staff and owners more so. They are very very welcoming, helpful, chatty and jovial without being too "in your face" as can happen at some places. I can''t remember what everyone had but I ordered a pizza and it was gorgeous, bordering on the best I have tasted, I was told the sea bass was to die for as well.

A nice touch was the staff milling around (pardon the pun) with fresh pepper and parmasan cheese for anyone who wanted it on their meals. We all had starters, a main course, desert, liquour coffees plus two 1 litre bottles of wine and the bill came to just over £100 for the four of us.

For an average of £25 a head I thought it was stunning value and would or rather will definately visit again, in fact every time I go to Blackpool I will.

We have dined at Nunzio's many times and have been treated like we were family. The food and the service is excellent, you must try the Sea Bass it's unbelievable. Varied choices on the menu which changes regularly combined with a great specials board.

Nunzio's an ideal venue for the discerning diner with a wine list to suit both novice or wine buff, and the atmosphere is always very special, thanks to the staff who are all very friendly and attentive.

You will leave believing you have known Nunzio for years, and I am sure will return on many occasions. Thank you for your excellent service to my family over the years.

I would like to thank you all for an excellent stay in Blackpool for my Fiancé and I, we stayed at the Big Blue Hotel which was excellent and catered for our every need, we toured the Pleasure Beach and had the time of our lives and then topped off our small break with quite honestly the BEST meal I have ever tasted at Nunzios Restaurant on Queens Street where the atmosphere was electric and only matched by the most exquisite Italian food.

I cannot thank you all enough but rest assured that such quality does not go unrewarded and I will sing your praises to all my friends and family and indeed we are already planning our next visit, bringing more people for later in the season.

Hope to see you all again soon, Thanks

The food was lovely, so tasty we really enjoyed the meal. The atmosphere was really nice. Hope to come back when we visit Blackpool again.

 Many Thanks

Image 1 Nunzio's truly is the perfect venue for any occasion. I am getting married soon and wanted a fun but relaxing hen night - I had 22 'hens' of all different ages and all had a super evening.
Things ran so smoothly, not least because the restaurant had prepared personalised table mats for each of the guests, stating their choices from the menu. This was a really great touch.
I have also eaten at the restaurant with both my Fiance and with my Mum before the theatre, and have never been disappointed by the surroundings, service and food. I thoroughly recommend Nunzio's for any occasion.

After living in Blackpool all my life and visiting many Italian Restaurants I can only say this one has to be the best. Staff very friendly and excellent service, food was superb, we had the main menu, steaks which were cooked to perfection.
They do a winter special menu which is excellent value.

Letter sent to Jane Seddon, Director of Tourism Blackpool

Dear Mrs Seddon,

My name is Louise Brown. I felt I simply had to write to you about the wonderful dining experience myself and my husband have had at Nunzio''s Restaurant situated opposite Walkabout.

Both myself and my husband are serving soldiers based at Weeton. Shortly after our arrival in Lancashire, we stumbled across Nunzio''s Restaurant.
It is such a fantastic place and we have returned several times, the most recent being November 2009.

Every single time we have visited Nunzio''s, we have had a brilliant time.

The food is delicious and to die for, and the atmosphere cannot be matched. I would go so far to say that during my army career and the many places I have travelled, no where I have seen comes close to Nunzio''s.

The staff are always pleasant and well presented, they always make time for their customers. They will discuss your order, dispite how busy they are.

The prices are reasonable too.

Nunzio''s Restaurant is a credit to Blackpool and if there were any awards that Nunzio''s could win, regarding his restaurant''s brilliant work, then it would have my vote.

Thank You

Mrs Louise Brown

My partner and I have been dinning in Nuzios for some years now, being locals we have tried several different Italian restaurants and we always go back to Nuzios! The food is always fantastico! Nuzios is always a busy place to eat with a great atmosphere, we have been in the height of the season and in the middle of winter so we have seen the restaurant at it's busiest and at it's quietest.

When you go in and it's busy, you may expect a wait for your table but that's a sign of a good place to eat when locals are prepared to have a drink and wait for good food in a great atmosphere. I especially love the winter when the open fire is lit and the place takes on a wonderful warm feeling, just the thing when you've been blown to bits by the howling wind on the prom. We are firm Nunzios eaters and have never had a bad meal in there.

We recommend Nunzios to all our guests that stay at our Guest House, and have never had anyone say anything but wonderful about the food. We continue to eat there again and again. We cannot understand that some reviewers have mentioned tinned and packet food, knowing the chefs and Nunzio himself, we KNOW that all the food is home cooked, freshly prepared and seasonal. Try this place. It's fantastico!

See you all soon, Craig & Alec

Sue and the team,
Thank-you for two terrific evenings over the weekend. The food was excellent, it was lovely to find somewhere that truely understands what a blue fillet steak should be! It was great to meet your locals and to become part of the "family".
Thanks once again.

P.S. Will research the Old Time Dorsets!!!!!

16th and 17th April 2010

Thank you my friend for a fantastic dining service this past weekend.  My fiance and I had an amazing time both Friday and Saturday night.

The food, the atmosphere and most of all the service were second to none and I would drive all the way from 'bonnie Scotland' just for that steak diane once more!

Thank you for the complimentary beers, and I wish you the best of luck for business in the future!

We hope to meet again

Kind regards

Paul Duffy & Lauren

Apologies for not doing this sooner.  It’s been a mad few weeks.

Thank you very much for looking after our group especially as we were a bit last minute booking with you.
About 18 of us were with you on 22nd October after The Rocky Horror  Show.  The food was fabulous and your staff were excellent and friendly.  I will recommend you to everybody and will happily visit again when I am in town.

Thanks again.

Best Regards

Really nice owners Nunzio and his lovely wife Susan you feel welcome from the minute you arrive.

Food was excellent, as was all the staff and if you like wine, Nunzio's your man, for italian wines.

A great place and I'm glad me and my fiance followed the Nunzio's recommendation by the blue hotel staff.

P.S put this restaurant on your must do list if you visit blackpool
